Elgin rebel is the first product I’ve ever purchased from this company and it’s been mixed feelings mostly positive tho. I had to make warranty claims on a few occasions. The first set had a earbud go dead and never work again then a warranty set came before they made replacement earbuds and only a few months later another dead earbud. This past month I purchased a replacement bud only for them to not connect but I was sent a full replacement. Customer service is excellent and I think a few generations have passed with improvements I don’t regret having these at all! Still a great product!

I work in a metal shop so lots of grinding and hammering. With all the different size ear buds easy to find one that fits and keeps it nice and quiet.

Great Idea, Poor Execution and Bad Electronics

I’m not happy to be writing a review like this— I was very excited to have a pair of wireless in ear headphones that actually cancel out harmful sounds and can be used at work. Unfortunately, the Elgin Rebel headphones I received just simply don’t work. The sound cancellation of the headphones is great, I can work with a grinder or go on a motorcycle ride with them in and definitely can tell that they are blocking out the harmful sounds of wind and grinding— it would just be nice if the things would connect to my phone and play music like they’re supposed to! Ever since new, the right side ear bud hasn’t worked. I’ve had them for a few weeks now, and have honed in on a pattern. I put them in, and about 60% of the time both headphones connect right away as they should, the other 40% of the time only the left connects and the right acts like it’s out of battery and unresponsive. Then, 5 minutes into listening sometimes the right side will randomly come to life and connect to my phone, or the opposite will happen and after 5 minutes of proper operation it will cut out. Even the left side does it from time to time. It really seems like Elgin is struggling with the Bluetooth tech in these headphones, I’m assuming it’s a hardware issue. I have a standard iPhone 11 Pro and can connect to other headphones just fine.

I filed a warranty claim 8 days ago and am supposed to hear back from them to determine if they will replace them or not, but at this point I’ve paid $150 to have a glorified set of foam ear plugs for about three weeks. I will update this review as my experience progresses, but I highly doubt in the end that my experience with the Elgin Rebel headphones will be a 5 star experience.

Cuts out

My husbands new Rebel earbuds cut out every time he turns his head.
