I use them while running and airboat which is extremely loud. I can listen to music loud and clear or hear notifications that come through my phone. The sound quality is way better than I expected.
These are not "range" ears so they don't amplify ambient sound, then clip loud sounds They just keep sound out. Period. They do it very well and very comfortably. The muffs alone are the best I've ever used. Add in the plugs and yeah, you can probably hammer drill in a metal culvert pipe (for whatever reason) and forget where you are. So impressively isolating.
Now, the bluetooth sound is another step above. I had to find the EQ setting on Amazon prime music and bring the bass down. Never bothered with that setting before. The audio is piped into the muffs and into the earplugs at the same time... very cool, and they are both better than my next best Bohm isolating headphones that I use for mowing. Plugs wise, better than my AXIL (2.0?) range plugs.
I have not used these as range ears yet but I may hit the back yard tomorrow with a couple of my obnoxious hand-cannons and try them out. I'm sure they will be excellent. I just hope no one sneaks up on me, because I will startle easy with these on.
I have not had a phone conversation with them yet. I hope they don't do well because I hate talking to people.
I may fall asleep in them tonight.
So far these rock.
I've owned a lot of hearing protection overhead years, and my Fury dual defense is the nicest gear I've ever found, so far. Great combination of effective protection, comfortability, audio sound quality, microphone useability, and even intuitive buttons. I literally never write reviews but these earmuffs are simply elegant
Works great just not comfortable to wear all day
Love the concept, love the protection. Love the high reduction. I can def hear the quiet podcasts in my truck, the ones that I cant hear over truck noise in other headphone options. Love the built in light, it does warm up pretty quick..
I'll say that making the ear cups smaller, narrower at the bottom.. I mean, it looks marketable.. but I'd opt for ear cups that would be larger and fit all the way over my ear.. I think most ear cups are too small already, not a fan of them pressing on my upper ear and would rather they sell on my head around the ear so that ear fatigue after all day use is reduced.. I wear ear defenders of some sort all day most days and it's an issue with most of them
Also, I often wear headphones under my welding helmet and the thicker band on these can be a bit much to get under all of that.
I do like them though, just hoping to sway future options for slim head bands, and big ear cups.
